Livin it up in the Hotel Zaragoza

so ill keep this short as im at a place where i cant post pics and most of them are only funny to my parents and sister... but i got into zaragoza (a town of about a million people where i went to middle school) last night from pamplona. ill warn you now, this post will prolly make more sense to rico, kath and lynn - but you can keep readin if you like...

got in last night and met up susana and luis at ricardos house... theyre all doin fine, so are their kids... he had invited me over to take somethin - id go with the chairs too mom, theyre the only things you can carry out of there easily ;)... anyway, we sat down and had a few glasses of patxarĂ n (of course, it was from carcar - or cochecoche as bea calls it)... after they spent the obligatory 30min givin me crap for not stayin at one of their places, we got into real conversations... turns out z-town is hostin some sort of world exposition (whereas the one in sevilla 1992 was universal, this is just international - dont know what that means, but thats what i was told) next summer... rico/kath, youre gonna get harassed about goin to that all year... just be prepared. apparently the expo focuses on water consumption or preservation or somethin... anyway, turns out esperanza is a camp counselor at some summer camp in ohio - susana doesnt quite know the city, but its the place bea went a few years ago.

walked around the city durin the day on monday, its changed quite a bit in the last 15 years... a lot of construction, a lot of new stuff (including no less than 4 irish pubs- yea, i dont get it either... theres neither any sort of irish contingent or mass of english speakers, but nonetheless theres irish pubs). el pilar looks the same, hasnt changed much in 300 years, dont know why it would change in 15. snuck into the old subdivision (still got some tricks up my sleeve) but couldnt get into bloque 5 - turns out someone finally fixed that broken door in bloque 6. (ill get you guys pics later, i just dont have that capability at this place)... the city really looks nice, gearin up well for the tourism that comes with the expo next year.

met up with two friends from middle school for a beer and things to pick at (slices of meat and cheese). marcos and emi are doin well. both got real jobs too. movin into new apartments in the new barrios that zaragoza is sproutin up (monte canal).. besides that this city isnt all that exciting, but i knew that goin in. this stop was moreso to see friends than to tourism...
if anyone DIDNT know this was where i was eatin lunch, apparently doesn't know me well enough...

apparently zaragoza-ins (???) have somethin against lance armstrong (grrrrrrrrrr)

here's a look at one of the 4 irish pubs in this city...

The highlight of one's journey is always the place of previous residence. Good to know that you remembered how to enter VH #35. D. Ricardo (Richard)did send a voicemail that he was "patiently waiting" for me to arrive whilst you were there to "take" some patxaran. (He was really specific this time regarding what we could take, chairs were out of the realm). Glad you had the opportunity to visit with our good friends from Z-town. You know what?--Z-town could be in the plans for 2008.
